Fake News: "I'm Right Behind You"
Feb. 17th, 2007 12:29 amTitle: I'm Right Behind You
Fandom: The Colbert Report
Genre: Romance, dramedy
Rating: G through PG-13
Words: ~11,200 in total
Disclaimer: ( The usual two. )
Notes: The fake news fandom is pretty much saturated with gay, but it was always about the guys. It needed some femslash. Trouble is, the female characters are pretty much limited to Sam and ... well, Sam. Unless you count the woman who is never seen but always on Stephen's mind.
We don't know a lot about Charlene. She's Stephen's cousin; they went to high school together; he stalked her during the eighties; she now has a restraining order against him. We've never seen a picture of her; I envision her as looking a lot like Stephen, because an extreme family resemblance would help explain why he's so obsessed with her.
In eight parts, plus a coda. Rather than copy the whole story into this journal, I'm just going to post a list of chapters.
( It's just over a year after the birth of Samantha Bee's first baby; her career is thriving, her marriage stable. Then she meets this really, really hot woman. You can guess where it goes from there. )
