(Randomly, how is "chibi" pronounced? I just realized that I'm not actually 100% sure.)

Date: 2010-01-19 04:03 am (UTC)One of the great things about Japanese (from the perspective of an English speaker, at least) is that it has a consistent system of romanization. So the letters always stand for the same sounds. "I" is roughly "ee", thus "chee-bee".
(This is probably getting detailed enough that only language geeks will care, but this clip features lots of "i" words - listen for "Akihabara" - if you want a more precise version of the sound.)
