Drabble & Ficlet Organizing Marathon
Hey, remember that long list of unsorted multi-short-fic posts that used to be lurking at the bottom of the Fake News fanwork masterpost? It's been almost emptied out!
Instead of trying to sort the fics all separately, these posts are now collected on the new Fake News Drabbles & Ficlets tag, which is treated like a separate ficlet-collection index post (same as the Merry Month of May index). Meanwhile on the masterpost, ficlet collections are now organized in their own group, so they don't have to be awkwardly grouped under "multichapter" when they aren't single chaptered works.
Also tagged as drabbles-and-ficlets are a bunch of other short, individually-posted fics that had been sorted on the masterpost. I didn't erase their existing entries, though. Figure it's better to have more ways to find a story than fewer.
During the organizing here on DW, I did a massive crosspost of the lot to the AO3. This series includes both the contents of the drabbles-and-ficlets tag and the Merry-Month-of-May tag. (...except for the ficlets I don't really like anymore.) The darker ones are only visible to registered users -- you can get an account very quickly if you'd like to read them.
Future posts with multiple shortfics, including prompt fills (a few more of which I should be posting soon), will go on the drabbles-and-ficlets tag, and be crossposted to the appropriate part of the AO3 collection. Feel free to read/review on whichever site works best for you!

Ooh, the masterpost is much better! I like the sorting by length and characters, although some fics are included twice as you say. And I have to wonder what separates an "epic AU" from, say, D/s-verse.
I think most people who follow your work simply subscribe to the relevant tags on this journal. AO3 is good for finding new readers, but I can't see anyone using it as their main source of fic. For one thing, it's hideous! :O
And I'm not sure what I think of the Kudos function... "Now you can leave feedback without having to interact with the author!"
Though I guess it's good for readers with social anxiety...
Thank you for cross-posting. :)

"Epic AU" is used pretty loosely -- it basically covers any 'verse that has a separate masterpost. Somehow the D/sverse fics don't feel connected enough to warrant that.
The AO3 has become a main source of fic for people whose fandoms have gotten big there, and for people who want an efficient way to find certain tropes across fandoms. When it comes to people following me, the fandom divide can be very sharp: fake news readers are used to getting the fics on DW, but I get almost no feedback here for Madoka Magica stories. People following those tend to end up on the AO3 account.
I switched to one of the custom AO3 skins, so as far as I'm concerned it's very classy, all soothing muted tones and subtle texturing that gives it an old-fashioned feel =)
The kudos function is one of my favorite features. There are lots of fanworks that I read and like well enough, but that don't move me enough to be driven to type up a response. On deviantART they'll get a +fav, and the AO3 they'll get a +kudos; on sites where there's no way to give that kind of low-effort feedback, they just won't get any. (And sure, everyone who feels this way could force themselves to leave comments anyway...but I'd much rather have a site that accommodates our natural comfort level.)
