I do remember that - in fact, I had it in mind when coming up with this fic, and go into more detail about the manipulative aspect a bit downthread. Thing is, I don't feel like Wilson recognized what he was doing in that situation either, until Amber pointed it out.

And I tend to cut him some slack on anything done with the intent of getting House to detox. Being close to an addict does weird things to you.

I'm not saying Jimmy's a saint, either. I just think there's a lot of room for slack-cutting. (Or maybe I'm rationalizing too. Who knows?)
