I'm just thinking about the time House said "Yeah, so I've been borrowing increasingly ridiculous amounts of money from you and never paying it back, just to see when you would finally push back." Or when Amber chastised him for buying the mattress she wanted. (In Wilson's angst over that decision, I didn't feel like he was thinking "I will make her depend on me, muahahaha!" It was more "I hate it, but she wants it, and I don't want to risk making her upset..." Maybe still manipulative, but with more innocent intentions.)
Oh, and the bottle-through-the-plate-glass-window scene! That's totally "aggression that was being held back until House needled/yelled it out of him."
A lot of the dark things you mention -- invoking-the-dead-girlfriend, for instance -- that was also with House, and it was after several seasons of House-encouraging-Wilson-to-be-a-bastard (plus possibly years of that from before the show started). I just don't get the sense that Wilson is willing to sink to the same depths with the general, non-House population.
But, yeah...l!Stephen is probably too genuinely innocent to match up, here =3
