...damnit, I typed in this whole long comment and DW ate it. Stupid server update.
Let's try this again.
The more I think about it, the more I feel like the l!Stephen/Jon D/s dynamic is going to be really different from the Jon/c!Stephen one. Sub!Jon doesn't have the overwhelming neediness, or the craving for rules, and he probably wouldn't be able to get through "ooh, I've been a bad boy, punish me master~" without cracking up.
Meanwhile, a lot of his dynamic with l!Stephen is already about actively pushing Stephen - to be less flexible, to set more boundaries, to be meaner when necessary. And there's a thread running through a lot of their conversations of "Stephen, I'm not made of glass, here; you don't need to worry about breaking me if you express your own needs and desires." Add that to Jon's independent streak, and, well...
"Come on, Stephen, is that all you're going to do? I broke your rules, remember? Hit me harder! I can take it! I can--oof! ...Okay, maybe not that hard. Ngh. Forgot I was decrepit for a second there."
(You can own Jon, but only if you can overpower him first.)
