Can I ask what you mean exactly by "lack of limits"? Because it's my impression that everyone has limits of some sort--they kind of have to; it's a survival mechanism--no matter how far out there they are. Do you just mean his are so far out in the wild blue yonder that it's almost like they don't exist?
Oh, Chuck and "Stephen" definitely have their fair share of shared traits. I usually say that I think Chuck is more of an intentional, purposeful asshole than "Stephen", who tends to go the route of the accidental, cluelessly offensive asshole. I also think that if I had to pick which one would be more likely to mature, I would pick "Stephen". (Though granted, 90% of that is based on the fact that "Stephen" has Jon, whereas Chuck has no one mature around him.) Of course, if you asked me to pick which would be more likely to completely lose his mind and go on a homicidal rampage, I'd also pick "Stephen". His mentally stability seems to be something of a crapshoot.
