If you're asking "did the iPhone mystically cause them to switch universes?", that would certainly have been amusing. (I actually read a book once in which all the technology was run on quantum processing, but a side effect was that it swapped you between universes while you talked on the phone. Most of the time it wasn't noticeable because the differences between universes were so small. It was a really cool premise, and a really cool story, though I don't remember much else about it.)
