His Dark Materials AU. Carlos gets coffee with Cecil (just coffee! But maybe it's more?) to talk about all the surprises in their recent tests, and learns that Cecil is nowhere near done surprising him. Later, a conference with a colleague from another town, to plan for the next steps in their research.
