Heh. Oddly enough, though I write in the c!Stephen 'verse, r!Stephen is my go-to model for Healthy And Well-Adjusted.
Chuck refused the invitation. (In spite of Geoffrey's varsity-level pouting about it.) He needed a little more than six months to come around. But he's getting there.
Except for her endorsement of teacher/student affairs, I bet Principal Littlenut is the most competent person ever to run the place.
Agh. I knew I was going to leave that line out. (Kept writing in different things and then deleting them.) Fixed!
There's still an ember of hope in Chuck somewhere -- almost dead, but not quite. He's pulling back because Seamus actually has a chance of lighting it, and he's afraid he wouldn't know how to handle that. Again, he'll get there. Eventually.
I had to resist writing lots of over-the-top Colbert tears here. If the story were from Stephen's POV (or Jon's, for that matter), you'd see plenty of them, believe me. But he's gotten a little better at pulling himself together over the intervening decades, at least in public =3
