At first it seems like Stephen is suddenly more self-aware than he should be at this point, but then even in canon his "meta" thoughts are bubbling just below the surface and peek out rather frequently. It's equal parts fascinating and heart-wrenching to watch as he bleeds out his damage. And as to what I think the title might imply... I'm getting kind of spooked. Especially since you have to "reinforce" him first...

Oh, and I thought you might like to know that the Sci Fi Channel is having a DW marathon until 4, and it IS really good! There was a sort of reunion episode that had Sarah Jane and K9 in it, too:D
