Okay, I'm not sure how to start with this comment, so I'll just plunge right on ahead: THIS FIC IS NOTHING SHORT OF AMAZING.
Supremely well-written, it has everything I want in fan fiction and a story in general: true-to-source characterizations; snappy dialog (complete with subtext); fantastic attention-grabbing opening and ending lines for chapters, sections, and paragraphs; consistent narrative voice that blends well with the character-filters; humorous tone that still manages to invoke a variety of emotions when appropriate; a perfect balance of showing and telling; obvious conflicts, obstacles, and objectives; formatting that is pleasing to the eye; what I call professional use of italics.
I must say, the dynamic of Jon and Stephen breaks my heart. It's so painfully beautiful. I can feel their tension, desire, and genuine love for each other, and it breaks my heart how close yet far apart they are from each other. I want them to be together and resolve all their tensions with couple-dom, and yet at the same time Tracey is amazing. :( I am odds with myself on who to root for!
Despite college, work, and family obligations trying to get in the way of my vegging out in front of my computer, I managed to read this fic all the way through the past three days (reading about seven chapters on my little phone screen alone!). XD It absolutely blows me away how addictive it was. I couldn't get enough of it. I just had to read more! I am in love with your writing and characterizations, and because of that, I don't want to say goodbye.
I'm happy that there's still an epilogue and one more chapter, but I find myself going "Nooooo! I don't want this to end!"
You have obviously taken serious care with this story with the amount of research and thought put into this. The amount of detail linked with the shows, all the careful references to tosses and clips, the seamless integration of what could be considered the fact of the shows and the fiction of the story in one solid braid is postively mind-boggling, along with the fringe science and pregnancy information gives the fic a sort of authoritative feel to it to the point where one could mistake it for being a novelization of what really happened.
I swear whole-heartedly, you are some sort of master, and I am in awe that such quality fanfiction is in existence.
I nearly cried quite a few times reading this, and you can bet that I laughed out loud in real-life more than once. You've given me warm fuzzies, renewing my excitement for the shows, and even instilling a want in me to be more poltically active. :D I am hopelessly addicted to your Jon and Stephen, and I gotta say, I hope you write more of them in the future.
That said, your clean execution and pristine grammar and spelling give me hope that other fan fiction writers out there will finally learn how it is done, my friend. People can learn more than one thing from this fic. It certainly boasts a powerful message, and is that because of who it deals with, or is there really some inner clockwork to your writer-mind that has clandestinely slipped that under the surface?
Needless to say, I'll say it anyway: I LOVE THIS FIC SO DAMN MUCH, AND I LOVE YOU, A WRITER WHO CLEARLY KNOWS HOW IT IS DONE, FOR WRITING IT.
I do apologize for the sheer girth of this comment...
