I get the idea that, while Stephen is genuinely upset in the first one, he's exaggerating the signs in hopes that Jon will respond without Stephen having to, you know, admit it or anything. (And when that doesn't work, he gets all indignant - how dare Jon fail to automatically understand what he wants without being told?)

Now I'm imagining what would happen if the Colkitty met the Colbunny...
