To be fair to Stephen, he's in an especially bad state right now -- it's not like Lorraine had to put up with this on a regular basis. But she definitely didn't have it easy, and your sympathy is very much justified.
Jon's priority in the end is getting Stephen home, so they don't have some kind of massive tabloid-worthy meltdown (er, more so than they did already, anyway) in a public place. After that...well, you'll see.
