Um. This may be awkward and incoherent. I did love these books as a kid and it's wonderful how you kept the innocence in tact. But mostly you hit me in the gut in the good way with Tip/Ozma's between the genders thing. Because it's the first time I've seen that "don't fit either gender category" in a character, so as I was reading this I wound up slowly devlolving into a bouncing loon with squee and oh-my-god-there-is-somebody-like-me-in-a-piece-of-fiction, and it has a happy ending, and, and. . . . *tears up and continues bouncing, nearly jostling the computer off the lap*
