Deleted Scenes of Knight, part 2 (HWYM and follow-ups, before Deadpool Saves!)

The AO3 crashing from last weekend is probably fixed (I wrote more about the downtime here) -- but I still have more unposted bonus content for the Cover of Knight universe. Here's another roundup of that.

Same basic idea as Deleted Scenes of Knight part 1. This time with scenes that were cut from Here's What You Missed, and the various shorter fics that followed it up -- everything before the start of Deadpool Saves the Cover of Knight Universe!

Deleted Scenes of Knight, part 1 (everything before Here's What You Missed)

AO3 has been struggling over the weekend, so here's some off-AO3 bonus content for the Cover of Knight universe.

When I cut something from the main draft (a whole scene, a conversation, sometimes just a single good line), I usually stick it at the bottom of the document, hoping I'll find a place to use it later. Sometimes that works out! But there's a growing pile of deleted scenes where I finally realized "this is probably never going to fit in."

(Sometimes because the characters/plot/etc have developed too much, or went in a different direction. Sometimes because it's re-expositing a thing I ended up doing exposition for in another way.)

So...here's the first 3600 words of that. Scenes that were cut from Cover of Knight, Reveals by Knight, and all the bonus fics in between -- everything before the start of Here's What You Missed.

🏚️ House of Shadows: Also from the comics, an eldritch people-eating monster from the Dark Dimension. Banished by sorcerers multiple times, until Marc worked out that it actually wants somebody to live in it.

You might remember the behind-the-scenes post I wrote about Come In From The Night...well, here's the same kind of post for no one could blame you.

Started the file on January 15, 2023. Wrote a bit more in March (which led to posting in this "the last 3-5 lines you've written of something you're working on" FFA thread), then in April. Stopped on April 26.

A year later, I figured this draft might be an interesting artifact! So I made a copy of the file and started editing the new version, leaving this as-is.

(I poked at the new version on-and-off through 2024...then put it away completely in September, because I switched focus to With All The Madness In My Soul, and didn't want to mix the continuities up. Didn't come back and finish it until April-May 2025.)
