AU where our heroes (and some villains) are all performers in various blocs of the Disney tween music/TV/movie empire, which naturally is amazingly screwed-up behind the scenes.

Jon and "Stephen" are in a manufactured boy band with Jimmy and Tucker. They're about to get some cross-promotion with Olivia, the local equivalent of Miley Cyrus. These kids are only thrown together based on whatever will get the best publicity, but there are still genuine Best Friendships Forever to be forged...which is good, because with high-pressure careers in the fishbowl of celebrity, sometimes friends are the only thing that keep you going.

For my [community profile] longfic_bingo card, prompt "band!fic". Ideas, encouragement, and Disney-tween-marketing expertise/dirt provided by [personal profile] politicette.

Jon the Sentinel is back in the U.S., and trying to settle into his newly awakened senses, not to mention his new civic duties. Stephen meanwhile is dealing with his own sense of overload, as the walls he's developed to keep out other people's emotions start buckling under the strain.

Plus, the whole thing was overwhelming Stephen's own brain with warm and fuzzy feelings, and he had to focus on quieting them down. )

Title: I Am Qumarica (And So Can You!)
Rating: Through R
Contents: Slavery, humiliation, attempted murder, consent issues of all kinds
Characters/pairings: Primarily Jon/"Stephen", Olivia/Kristen, and Sam/Jason, with others
Blanket Disclaimer: #NotIntendedToBeAFactualStatement. Characters belong to the Report. Names of real people are used in a fictitious context, and all dialogue, actions, and content are products of the author's imagination only.

Loosely connected tales from the AU where Jon owns a harem, with a bunch of the correspondents as his concubines. Featuring idficcy sex slavery for some, snark and wary self-sufficiency for others, a dark!Jon struggling to redeem himself, and a background of vaguely cutthroat political infighting.

Takes place in a fictional empire called Qumarica, a play on the fictional state of Qumar in The West Wing (h/t [personal profile] politicette for the idea). Thus the title.

Title: The Sunlit Millennium
Series: Sailor Moon
Rating: Teen. This is a Choose Not To Warn experience.
Characters: Mostly original, with a few canon faces dropping in.
Disclaimer: Unless you count in dreams, Sailor Moon was never mine.

Bits and bobs from a loose remix of the Xyll Saga, redone from the ground up to use entirely Egyptian mythology and take place during the Sailor Wars. This one's fresh off the text editor, so no early-work warnings here (and criticism is welcomed!).

The fic will be split up into a series of connected stories, and I make no promises to cover everything, because the pressure is lower that way ^_^; Text will all be on the AO3, with links and background information indexed here.

Title: The Xyll Saga
Series: Sailor Moon
Rating: General audiences, but this is a Choose Not To Warn experience.
Characters: Mostly original, with a few canon faces dropping in.
Disclaimer: Unless you count in dreams, Sailor Moon was never mine.

Before the fall of the Silver Millennium, the princess of a neighboring star system seeks to awaken her fellow Sailor Senshi to repel the Dark Kingdom. Granted, if one of the team died in the initial attack, her quest may have failed before it began...but with refugees to protect, brainwashed comrades to rescue, and an invading enemy force to outrun, our heroes don't have time to think too much about that.

Title: Snowflake
Series: TCR
Rating: G
Cast: Jon, "Stephen"

One of Stephen's creepy dimensional portals must have been holding the thing, and was now discharging it bit by bit: enough metal to form the frame of a mid-sized pup tent, and in almost as complicated a configuration. )

Title: Pulpit
Series: TCR
Rating: G
Cast: "Stephen", family
Prompt: "Warning signs," specifically from [personal profile] politicette: "Something about baby!"Stephen" and how if someone (Charlene?) were paying more attention, they would have honed in on a specific incident or two and caught how miserable and unstable he was growing up to be."

Stevie's standing on tiptoes behind the pulpit, on the velvet-covered footstool used by the kids who get called up to recite a prayer or light an Advent candle. )

Disclaimer: MadoMagi isn't mine. Sad but true.

The more times she fails to save Madoka, the more desperate Homura gets...until kidnapping her and locking her in a basement until Walpurgisnacht is over stops sounding like such a crazy idea.

Parts of this fill my [community profile] hc_bingo round 3 card, prompt "sacrifice," and my [community profile] longfic_bingo card, prompt "grief." Has a mirror on the AO3.

Stephen charges into Jon's office with a repressed-jealousy-fueled interpretation of the Admiral General Aladeen interview. Jon is still wrestling with the whole (skip) "being forced to open his pants for a virtual stranger at gunpoint" thing. The results are...turbulent.

This was inspired by a kink meme prompt; the scenario got less kinky and more just plain weird as the writing went along. Title is from Tori Amos lyrics, which are pretty abstract but possibly related if you squint.

'I'm glad I got out of here when I did! Is that why Doris Kearns Goodwin keeps agreeing to come on my show, hm? Was she already numbed by repeated exposure to your torch and liberty bells?' )

Title: Stone By Stone

Names of real people are used in a fictitious context, and all dialogue, actions, and content are products of the author's imagination only. With apologies to everyone involved, especially Tina Fey.

A prequel one-shot for the Castle Down 'verse, which for some reason turned into a 30 Rock crossover. Scenes from Stephen's life in Vulpis before the war, and his doomed friendship with one of the other "pets" he got to know there.

Refers to the Wørd "Bite The Hand That Feeds You", which unwittingly provided this universe a bit of backstory. Other references: the O'Reilly tartan; the Megyn Kelly meme. Title is another lyric from the Emilie Autumn song.

'I'm on a very important mission for General Bill O'Reilly, and you are infringing on his right to have me walk here!' )

Prompted by [personal profile] politicette: Jon has Martha on for an interview about her new book, The Year That Wasn't. Also on the AO3 and on Teaspoon.

'So when you describe in detail all the gory ways a human being can die after a few months without access to modern medical technology, there's actual expertise backing that up.' )

Is it a bad sign when you're about to describe a fic as "the one where c!Stephen checks into a mental hospital" and then realize that describes about four other things you've written?

References: the O'Reilly interview; the Ohio toss; bobby pins; Stephen on Larry King; seeing patterns where none exist. (This story has been kindling since shortly after that last clip aired.)

Now with its very own soundtrack by [personal profile] politicette.

'They didn't let me have so much as a marker the first three days,' he fumes to Jon over the world's blandest macaroni and pudding. )

Scenes from three summers in the Expectingverse. Stephen, trauma, childhood, water, and a brief history of Sweetness.

Title: Ein ganz besondrer Saft
Fandom: Puella Magi Madoka Magica
Characters/Pairings: Homura/Madoka
Rating: PG
Warnings: Spoilers through episode 10.
Disclaimer: So not mine. Although if I had a wish...

Homura gets Madoka out of a witch's barrier alive, but not unharmed. Now Madoka needs someone to take care of her while (if) she recovers.

For round 2 of [community profile] hc_bingo, prompt "poisoning"; card and masterpost here. Title is from Faust (line 1740), translated there as "a juice with curious properties."

The strands near the top were thick enough to hold the witch: a hulking spider with legs coming out at all angles and jet-black wings curling out from what Homura could only assume was its back. Half a dozen of its limbs clasped something tiny and pink. )

The long-awaited climax of the Green & Gray 'verse. (If your memories of previous installments have gotten fuzzy and you were thinking of doing a reread, now would be the time.)

...So of course I set out to post a bunch of fics on the week when everyone's on vacation. Clever plan of mine, that.

This next one was written for a prompt from [personal profile] paperscribe, the content of which is spoilery in itself: (skip) Jon experiences a dissociative fugue. (The triggering trauma is unspecified.)

Takes place relatively early in Jon's TDS days, where he has devoted fans but isn't a household name. Pretend that's enough to make it make sense.

The staff usually takes turns with the worst customers, but over the month and a half since Daniel started working here Colbert has more or less adopted him. )

Title: Pace Yourself For Me
Rating: G for the first half; PG-13 for the second
Characters/pairings: "Stephen"/Jon, family
Two disclaimers, with love )

This is a jumble of ideas for some kind of college-age AU. One written scene, one illustration, and a bit of synopsis. Stephen's deeply closeted about his attraction to guys, and feels much safer when he appears to have a girlfriend. Which works out fine for Jon, who's in a closet of his own.

Most of it was originally posted here. A link is going on the Transverse masterlist. And, yes, the title is from the Killers song.

(For the record: if anyone wants to take this concept and run with it, either using these specifics as canon or contradicting them completely...go for it.)
