WHAT. THIS IS SO PERFECT I DON'T EVEN.

Seriously, is your new mission statement to make me feel awesome about transitioning? I used to be a Kansas girl, when I was a girl, and I read every single L. Frank Baum book and most of the Ruth Thompson. Ozma/Tip was always my favourite. And the Nome King story; I loved the idea that you could turn into something else but still be yourself. I've been thinking about revisiting them, seeing how they work in a new, grown-up life... they're sort of next on the list of hugely-beloved-childhood-artifacts-with-an-unexpected-theme (just finished with Alanna by Tamora Pierce...).

Anyway, I... can't imagine anything more personally meaningful and more beautiful than this story. What a wonderful alternative to the highly-cynical Wicked books, as a grown-up-Oz personal canon.

So, you know. Thanks!
